<strong>Corrosion</strong> Control<br />

The V-<strong>Jet®</strong> Coating System is an application<br />

process for applying a patented binary chemical formulation (IS-2500)<br />

using the TDW V-Jet Pig to assure the line is coated top and bottom,<br />

beginning to end. The coating system may be applied to new lines<br />

following construction or on-stream lines flowing natural gas, crude oil<br />

or products.<br />

V-<strong>Jet®</strong> Coating System<br />

Unlike conventional corrosion inhibitors, IS-2500 compound preferentially adheres to<br />

the pipe surface and will subsequently and spontaneously cure to a tough, adherent,<br />

very thin, corrosion-resistant coating, acting as a temporary barrier that does not<br />

allow corrosive materials to come in contact with the pipe.<br />

IS-2500 lasts 5-6 times longer than batch inhibitor treatments or in excess of 12<br />

months, depending on line conditions. Additional benefits include increased flow due<br />

to smoothing of the pipe wall and less pigging frequency due to debris not adhering<br />

to pipe wall.<br />

The V-<strong>Jet®</strong> pig:<br />

• Uses a unique venture siphoning<br />

arrangement that when combined with<br />

differential pressure by-pass, actually<br />

sprays and applies IS-2500 to the top of<br />

the pipe.<br />

• Emphasizes safe and easy-to-use<br />

launching and receiving techniques.<br />

• Eliminates the need for frequent<br />

inhibitor batching.<br />

• Sturdy and reliable construction, is<br />

designed to withstand tough use.<br />

• Spray head applies corrosion<br />

inhibitor fluid to the top quadrant<br />

of the pipeline.<br />

• Designed to act as its own reservoir<br />

in the event that it should pass a<br />

section of pipe that would be void<br />

of the corrosion inhibitor fluid, such<br />

as an incline or decline in elevation.<br />

• Can be used as the front and/or<br />

rear pig in a batching process for<br />

a complete 360 degree inhibitor<br />

fluid saturation.<br />
