STUDENT CONCESSION RULES<br />
(To be retained by the student)<br />
Existing eligible students can renew their existing <strong>bus</strong> passes at the counters after submitting the student’s <strong>concession</strong> application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong> duly certified<br />
by the school / college authorities and our depot officials. If the existing card is not readable at our PoS, then the student has to opt <strong>for</strong> new <strong>bus</strong> pass<br />
by paying necessary charges.<br />
General Rules <strong>for</strong> opting <strong>Student</strong> Concessional Bus Passes:<br />
1) <strong>Student</strong>s in the age group of 3 to 12 years can also avail School <strong>Student</strong>s Bus Pass <strong>for</strong> their travel between place of residence and school using Ordinary &<br />
Limited routes of the <strong>Undertaking</strong> or alternatively they can avail of present <strong>concession</strong>al fare tickets facility.<br />
2) <strong>Student</strong>s completing 12 years of age and studying upto 10 th / 12 th standard or upto 20/22 years of age respectively (whichever is earlier) can avail<br />
<strong>concession</strong> in <strong>bus</strong> fare only through Bus Pass <strong>for</strong> their travel between place of residence and school by Ordinary or Limited <strong>bus</strong>es of the <strong>Undertaking</strong>. For all<br />
trips other than between school & residence, they will have to purchase Adult Bus Fare Ticket.<br />
3) The <strong>bus</strong> pass will be issued only to those students attending recognised primary schools, schools / Jr. Colleges affiliated to Maharashtra SSC/HSC (with<br />
MCVC faculty) Board & CBSE/ICSCE Boards.<br />
4) The application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong> will be available at the BEST <strong>bus</strong> depot on payment of Rs.1/-. A photograph of 2 cms x 2.5 cms. (Identity Card size) should be pasted<br />
on the application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong> in the provided space. The photograph should be in School Uni<strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong> <strong>for</strong> students studying upto 10 th Std.<br />
5) The student should obtain from the Head Master / Principal of School / Jr. College the necessary certificate under the seal of the School / Jr. College. The<br />
seal should also be obtained on the photograph affixed on the application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong>.<br />
6) The duly certified application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong> should then be furnished at the BEST <strong>bus</strong> depot under whose jurisdiction the School / Jr. College or the residential area<br />
of the student falls. Under no circumstances a soiled/torn or incomplete application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong> will be accepted. After acquiring certification from the Depot<br />
Officials, the application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong> has to be submitted at authorized Point of Sale (PoS), <strong>for</strong> registering <strong>for</strong> <strong>bus</strong> pass (RFID Card). In case students are not<br />
physically present then additional photograph of the prescribed size has to be submitted alongwith the application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong>. At the time of registration the<br />
following charges as applicable has to be paid in full.<br />
For Regular Bus Pass:-<br />
(i) RFID Card – Rs.20/-<br />
(ii) Bus Pass Fee: – Monthly Quarterly Six Monthly<br />
Upto Std.Xth Rs.125/- Rs.375/- Rs.625/-<br />
Std.XIth & XIIth Rs.250/- Rs.750/- Rs.1250/-<br />
(iv) Administrative Fee – Rs.5/- Rs.15/- Rs.25/-<br />
For Exclusive School Trip Bus Pass: (Minimum 50 <strong>Student</strong>s from one location Upto Xth Std Only):<br />
(i) RFID Card – Rs.20/-<br />
(ii) Bus Pass Fee: – Six Monthly<br />
a) Upto 10 Kms within MMC Limit Rs.750/-<br />
b) Above 10 Kms within MMC Limit Rs.1250/-<br />
c) Upto 10 Kms beyond MMC Limit Rs.1400/-<br />
d) Above 10 Kms beyond MMC Limit Rs.1900/-<br />
(iii) Administrative Fee – Rs.25/-<br />
Six Monthly <strong>bus</strong> passes will have fixed validity period. First half will commence from 1 st June and end on November 30 th . Second half will commence from<br />
1 st December and end on May 31 st . There shall not be any change in the validity period of six monthly <strong>bus</strong> passes.<br />
7) The <strong>bus</strong> pass (RFID card) will be delivered, from the Point Of Sale (PoS) where he/she has submitted the application <strong><strong>for</strong>m</strong>, on the delievery date mentioned<br />
on the registration receipt.<br />
* All the a<strong>for</strong>esaid charges are subject to change without any prior notice.<br />
* Charges once collected as above will not be returned under any circumstances.<br />
8) The <strong>Student</strong>’s Concessional Bus Pass holder will be permitted to travel to and fro between School / Jr. College and his/her residence throughout the day on<br />
all the days any number of times till the date of validity. However, they will have to renew the Bus Pass on or be<strong>for</strong>e 7 days of the expiry date. They will<br />
have to produce the RFID card as and when asked by the Conductor/Checking staff.<br />
9) In case the RFID Card is defaced, / torn, and if the validity period is more than 15 days then the student will be issued new RFID card, by activating it <strong>for</strong><br />
remaining validity period on payment of Rs.20/- as a card fee, + Rs.10/- Penalty. In case of loss of RFID card the student should immediately bring police<br />
complaint, photo id proof, and original receipt issued by the undertaking <strong>for</strong> getting duplicate RFID <strong>bus</strong> pass by paying all the applicable charges (Rs.50/- as<br />
penalty + Rs.20/- as card fee + Rs.5/- administrative charges ).<br />
10) The student studying in 10 th /12 th standard after attaining the age of 20 / 22 years or after completing 10 th / 12 th Standard whichever is earlier or student<br />
studying in any standard on discontinuation of the education should surrender the Bus Pass at the depot from which he/she had collected the same.<br />
11) All rules and regulations of the BUS PASS SCHEME are applicable to the STUDENT CONCESSIONAL BUS PASS SCHEME and on use of the Bus Pass it is<br />
construed that the user has accepted the rules and regulations.<br />
12) Issue of Bus Pass does not mean any assurance towards guaranteed level of <strong>bus</strong> service and no claim whatsoever will be entertained towards trips not<br />
undertaken in the event of irregular operations, strikes, stoppage of work, dislocation of <strong>bus</strong> service, breakdowns, etc.
