The Altar Rosary Society and the
women of our parishes will be cooking
breakfast for the men & boys of our
parishes.
Details of these events are in the
bulletin, or will be in the bulletin.
Daily Liturgy: Come to Me, all you who
labor and are heavy laden and I will give
you rest! Take my yoke upon you and
learn from Me, for I am gentle and
humble of heart, and you will find rest of
your souls. For my yoke is easy and My
burden light. "Mt. 11, 28-29. All are
invited to be refreshed by the Lord on a
daily basis by attending Divine Liturgy
and receiving the Holy Eucharist! What
a beautiful way to start the day! Your
participation on a daily basis allows
Jesus to refresh and renew your life as
only he can.
SS. Peter & Paul/Assumption BVM
Parish Food Drive: The Altar Rosary
Society is sponsoring a food drive to
help The Mount Carmel Area Food Bank
to feed the needy. The food is
distributed to only Mount Carmel Area
residents. We will be collecting canned
or boxed items such as cereal, potatoes,
rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce, peanut
butter, jelly, pudding, crackers, etc. No
perishable items will be accepted, such
as fruit, vegetables, etc. You may place
donations in the container in the front of
the church. This is an ongoing project.
As we receive donations they will be
taken to .The Mount Carmel Area Food
Bank. Thank you for your generosity.

78 Annual Ukrainian Seminary Day
Benefit of the
St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic
Seminary
Sunday, July 29th, 2012
Dear friends of Ukrainian Seminary Day,
Every year, for the past 78 years on the
last Sunday of July, members of the
Ukrainian Catholic churches in the
South Anthracite Deanery, host an
annual social to raise funds for the
support of St. Josaphat Ukrainian
Catholic Seminary in Washington, D.C.
and to highlight Ukrainian spiritual and
ethnic heritage. Between 1985 through
2011. the parishes have raised over
$500, 000 for St. Josaphat Ukrainian­
Catholic Seminary. This year's social
will be held Sunday, July 29th. 2012 at
St. Nick's Grove, Primrose, Minersville,
Pa.
In conjunction with Ukrainian Seminary
Day, a Commemorative Book will be
published, which will be distributed to
the hundreds of friends who will attend
Ukrainian Seminary Day on Sunday,
July 29th.
We will most sincerely appreciate your
support in the form of advertisements
from your parishes and parish
organizations in this Annual Ukrainian
Seminary Book.

Father's Day Breakfast: Men mark
your calendars! The women of the Altar
Rosary Society will be preparing and
serving a very special breakfast for all of
you on Father's Day on June 17 1 h, 2012
immediately after 9:15AM Divine
Liturgy. The breakfast will be free of
charge to all men and boys of our
parishes. Please notify the church office
by calling 339-0650 during regular office
hours, or complete the form below and
put in collection basket if you plan to
attend. We hope all the men, as well as

Very Sincere Thanks:
Last weekend we celebrated both the
Feast of Pentecost and Memorial Day,
both days were especially beautiful and
solemn because of the effort of several
of our parishioners. Very special thanks
are extended to Chris Bogner and Diane
Molesevich for decorating SS. Peter &
Paul Church with the traditional greens
for Pentecost. They did a great job! Very
special thanks are also extended to our
cemetery care-taker, Jay McAndrew for
all the work he does throughout the
spring and summer to make our
'cemetery at SS. Peter & Paul so
beautiful. Great job Jay! We also extend
our thanks to Jim Gownley who does a
fantastic job taking care of Assumption
cemetery. A very special thank you to
Joe Liptock for decorating Assumption
B.V.M. Church with the traditional
greens for Pentecost. Great job to Jim
and Joe as well! Many parishioners and
visitors to the cemeteries commented on
how well-maintained they are. Finally, a
special thank you to our cantor Ed Cuff,
and our altar servers, Bryce Fiamoncini
and Tiffany Yuskoski for all their
assistance during the services both in
church and the cemeteries. God bless
you and thank you!
