4 Chapter 4. Benefits of DB2 9 for SAP BI This chapter describes and discusses the benefits and new features of DB2 9 for z/OS that are most relevant to SAP BI. Here we discuss the new dynamic index ANDing, the new histogram statistics, the parallelism enhancements, and some further BI relevant DB2 9 features. We do not discuss XML, backup and recovery enhancements, OSC, LOB improvements, Online REORG enhancements, Universal tablespaces, Clone table support, MERGE statement, or Index Compression. All of these are very important DB2 9 for z/OS enhancements and new features and have no extra SAP BI specific usage.
