In Figure 2-13 the <strong>BI</strong> snowflake schema <strong>for</strong> a cube is shown. Here we have the<br />

E- fact table in the middle, surrounded by the dimension tables, which<br />

themselves are joined to different kinds of SID tables. SID is an abbreviation <strong>for</strong><br />

surrogate identifier. SIDs are used to create small unique identifiers <strong>for</strong> master<br />

data and attributes. This figure also shows the <strong>SAP</strong> <strong>BI</strong> naming convention and<br />

pattern <strong>for</strong> the different kinds of tables.<br />
