This table contains the following fields:<br />

► The characteristic with the master data itself.<br />

► The characteristic compounded to this characteristic (“super-ordinate<br />

characteristic”)<br />

► All time-dependent attributes<br />

► CHANGED (D: Delete record, I: Insert record, Blank space: No changes;<br />

changes evaluated only after activation)<br />

► OBJEVERS (A: Active version, M: Modified and there<strong>for</strong>e, not active version)<br />

These fields <strong>for</strong>m the key.<br />

PDA application<br />

Persistent Staging Area<br />

Transparent database table, in which request data is stored in the <strong>for</strong>m of the<br />

transfer structure. A PSA is created per DataSource and source system. It<br />

represents an initial store in <strong>BI</strong>, in which the requested data is saved unchanged<br />

<strong>for</strong> the source system.<br />

planning application<br />

Generic term <strong>for</strong> complex planning functions, with whose help a specific<br />

business planning task is processed, and which are compiled from objects of<br />

cross-application planning, and delivered by <strong>SAP</strong>.<br />

Examples of planning applications are balance sheet planning, investment<br />

planning, or the special function Capital Market Interpreter.<br />

planning package<br />

Selection of data in which planning functions operate.<br />

A planning package is used to define a selection <strong>for</strong> those characteristics where<br />

no selection was already defined in the planning level. In the case of a complete<br />

data selection in the planning level, a planning package must also be available in<br />

order to execute planning functions.<br />

planning profile<br />

User-specific combination of planning objects, which are displayed during the<br />

planning session in the planning environment.<br />
