From the hardware side, the <strong>BI</strong>A is an appliance. It came pre-installed and ready<br />

<strong>for</strong> configuration. From the System z side, the <strong>BI</strong>A has to be connected <strong>using</strong> a<br />

GigaBit Ethernet. You can check the network configuration by sending a<br />

15,000-byte packet through the network connection and you must be able to<br />

receive a response in the order of a second.<br />

An example of the configuration is shown in Figure 9-4.<br />

The <strong>BI</strong>A appliance came pre-installed. It requires simple customizing steps<br />

regarding the <strong>BI</strong> system to it will be connected.<br />

For the installation you need the following data:<br />

► <strong>SAP</strong> system identification (SID) <strong>for</strong> new TREX instance<br />

► New TREX option to create a new RFC connection on <strong>SAP</strong> <strong>BI</strong> system<br />

► Instance number<br />

► Total number of blades installed<br />

► Confirmation of that use <strong>for</strong> host naming the <br />

► <strong>SAP</strong> <strong>BI</strong> SID<br />

► <strong>SAP</strong> <strong>BI</strong> instance number<br />

► <strong>SAP</strong> <strong>BI</strong> application server<br />

► <strong>SAP</strong> <strong>BI</strong> client<br />
