This is actually a <strong>BI</strong> 7.0 installation, the same as scenario 1. For <strong>BI</strong>A it makes<br />

no difference whether it is a fresh installation or came from an upgrade.<br />

► You can Data Mart from your existing <strong>SAP</strong> BW (2.x or 3.x) to a new <strong>SAP</strong><br />

NetWeaver 2004s.<br />

In this case, the queries are migrated and run on the <strong>BI</strong> 7.0 system. We can<br />

call this option a partial upgrade of the <strong>SAP</strong> BW (2.x or 3.x).<br />

In either case, the queries are running from a NetWeaver 2004s environment,<br />

and only in scenario 3, the data does not reside in a <strong>BI</strong> 7.0 system. Based on<br />

that, our recommendation is that if you are not already on <strong>BI</strong> 7.0, at least do a<br />

technical upgrade to it. In case <strong>for</strong> some reason that is not possible, scenario 3 is<br />

technically possible to do, but involves more administration and infrastructure<br />

resources.<br />
