8.1 Troubleshooting general system performance In this section we provide a road map to take the reader through some general system-wide health checks. These ensure that there is no general problem that may compromise DB2 performance within SAP BI. It is worth taking the time to perform this task before doing more specific in-depth analysis. It is beyond the scope of this book to provide a comprehensive guide to troubleshooting general SAP and z/OS DB2 system performance problems. However, we provide a process flow to perform a basic system health check. We primarily focus on methodology and refer you, when necessary, to publications where you can find a more detailed discussion about these subjects.
