7.5.1 Materialized query tables<br />

Material query tables (MQTs) can be used to improve DataStore objects query<br />

per<strong>for</strong>mance. MQTs offer a way to hold the results from previous queries so the<br />

results do not need to be recomputed <strong>for</strong> future queries. The query results are<br />

materialized and saved in MQTs.<br />

<strong>SAP</strong> provides this function <strong>for</strong> InfoCubes <strong>using</strong> aggregates. <strong>SAP</strong> does not<br />

support aggregates <strong>for</strong> DataStore objects, so the function of MQTs can be used<br />

to do this <strong>for</strong> DSO objects.<br />
