BACKGROUND AND ACTIVITIES A group of scholars, diplomats and economists from Europe as well as from the Arabo-Islamic world have founded the association to contribute to an on-going dialogue between the « Islamic » and the « Occidental » world. The association has organized a conference “Le Conflit Libano-Israélien: un défi à l’ordre international” in cooperation with the Graduate Institute. None so far. Prof. Hassan Ghaziri : President. The current world situation more than ever demands the development and strengthening of dialogue. CDAC aims to develop, cultivate and promote the spirit and culture of dialogue with the ultimate goal of creating tools and instruments to address the current global issues and challenges in a constructive, evolutionary and democratic way. BACKGROUND AND ACTIVITIES Founding year 2003. • CDAC conducts a research project on “The Golden Rules of Dialogue”: This research project aims at developing simple yet powerful and comprehensive guidelines on essential elements of productive dialogue which will be presented in the form of a manual. • CDAC creates a comprehensive online based Resource Centre on the Dialogue among Civilizations: This onlinecentre will make valuable information such as news, calendar of events, portraits of organizations etc. easily accessible. It will promote the different organizations in their work, support networking and cooperation among organizations and institutions. • CDAC promotes “Dialogue in Action”: In the promotion of the action oriented dialogue, CDAC mobilizes different sectors of society (Business, Academic Institutions, Int. Organizations, Authorities, Media, Artists, etc.). Through this constructive dialogue, CDAC aims to propose concrete actions and projects to individuals and the different public actors alike, in order to promote comprehensive security. • CDAC creates a network of “Friends for Dialogue”: This network brings together persons of good will and common interest. We will particularly promote the cooperation with the academic community and youth organizations. This network should also serve the research activities and support the promotion of CDAC activities on the international level.
