her response was, “Every day I do
something embarrassing.” Her pet
peeve is when people talk when
the teacher is talking and when
someone’s feet touch her. Her
biggest fear is death at a young age.
One fact that few people know about
Peanut is that she used to be very
shy, but now you can rarely get her
to shut up.
Favorites for Peanut include: teacher,
Mr. Schaefer; subject, science; food,
cheese pizza; color, purple; and past
time, dance. Her favorite quote is
“Live for the moment. Don’t regret
the past, don’t predict the future.
Just live your life and do what makes
you happy.”
During high school, Angela has been
involved in the following activities:
track (9 th ), volleyball (9 th ), golf (10 th -
(9 th & 10 th ), FFA (9 th , 10 th , 11 th , and
Cheerleader (11 th ), and All Iowa
Dance Team (11 th & 12 th ).
Angela’s future plans are to attend
Morningside College and major
in biology and hopefully attend
DesMoines University to become a
physician’s assistant.
person is his mom, Pamela, because
she has raised her kids on her own.
Chinchilla, as he’s known to his
friends, would find it difficult to
survive without family, friends, food,
his phone, and music. His most
memorable moment was breaking
his arm at academic decathlon.
Some day Nathan hopes he gets a
chance to sky dive. His pet peeve
is annoying people and his biggest
fear is rolling a car. One thing you
might not know about Nathan is that
he doesn’t like cake.
Some of Nathan’s favorites
include: teacher, Mr. Olson; subject,
PE; food, pizza; color, orange; and
the movie, Never Back Down.
During high school, Nathan has
been active in vocal (9 th , 10 th , 11 th
Next fall, Nathan plans to attend
Iowa Central Community College
and study Auto Tech.
A hypnotist will also perform
half way through after-prom. Food
and beverages keep the students
Prizes include gift cards, electronics,
prizes.
Southern Cal after-prom activities
are chaperoned and planned by
the parents of the freshmen and
sophomore prom servers. Thanks to
Central School Board Meets
The Central School Preservation
board met Monday, April 5, 2010,
at 7:00 p.m. with ten members
and one guest, Hannah Batten,
present. President Rudy Engstom
called the meeting to order. It was
noted that December was the last
meeting held, the February meeting
being post-poned three times due to
inclement weather. Minutes from
that December meeting were read
and approved. Rose Rosendahl gave
the treasurer’s report, followed by
Linda Stotts with the fundraising
account. The new computer from
Heritage Computers has been
installed, the room being rearranged
by Dwight Morenz for easier access.
The computer is for Board use only.
There is no internet access. The new
2010 budget was handed out to the
members and was discussed, along
with comments about CSP, Inc.
investments. More information will
be looked into at the next meeting.
Committee reports followed. Four
bids were received in response to the
advertising for someone to replace
Leonard Konstanz for mowing and
trimming of the grounds this season.
After deciding to let the position
go, he reconsidered and submitted a
new bid to us. Following discussion
and a vote, it was decided to rehire
Leonard. Shingling the south side
of the building was again discussed.
It was felt that this is something
that cannot be put off. Letters will
be sent to some contractors, along
with some ads to get bids lined up
for consideration, due by May 15, in
order to have them before the June
meeting. Grants may be applied for
to help with this project.
The committee will be getting
together this next week to continue
looking over contents in the building,
rearranging and making new
displays. It was suggested taking
some of the items gathered and
putting them on the all-town garage
sale later this summer. The alumni
will be doing the same with some of
the items they have acquired.
Someone will be checking with
Pat Himes about the materials she is
putting on discs for us. This could
be done with a lot of the materials
we have folders on in our library.
Dwight Morenz has done a
wonderful job getting the yard in
shape after the ice storm raised
such havoc with the trees on the
grounds. He increased his hours
while working on this project. He
has also started inventorying some
items in the building, something
else that will be continued in the
future. Andy Rose did the snow
removal this past winter, and has
submitted only a partial bill, which
has been paid. A Workman’s Comp
audit has been received and will be
filled out and returned by Rudy. Pat
Albright suggested we rejoin the
Iowa Museum Association, which
was readily agreed upon.
Election of 2010 officers was
the final item on the agenda. Rudy
Enstrom continues as President,
with Pat Albright being the new
Vice President. Rose Rosendahl
continues as Treasurer. Jan Dougherty
and Deanne Grantham will share the
secretary’s position. Corresponding
secretary will be Sandy Somers. The
next meeting will be June 7. Eileen
McCuen will be checking into the
number of buildings needed to be
made for the next miniature in the
Our Home Town collection, which
will be started soon. There has been
an interest shown in doing either
the old Presbyterian or Methodist
churches as our next project.
