Employee recognition luncheon
The Rockwell City-Lytton and Southern Cal Boards of Education hosted an employee recognition luncheon on the
last day of school to honor employees who are retiring, leaving the districts, and have reached milestones in years of
service to the districts. Members of both boards presented plaques to retirees and certificates to employees for their
years of service.

Maxine Bowie’s Grandson,
Mark Bowie, has been visiting in
his grandmother’s home recently,
before returning to his parent’s Dr.
and Mrs. Lee Bowie home in Saudi
Arabia. This fall, Mark will be
attending William and Mary College
in Williamsburg, Virginia.

White, Dr. Ashton McCrary, Pete
Farley, and Vera Mae Doty) held a
noon meeting at Mr. B’s Restaurant
last Tuesday. The board members
discussed the applications for a $500
scholarship to a 2nd year college
student.

Steven M. McGinty was awarded
the Degree of Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine from the College of
Veterinary Medicine, Iowa State
University, Ames, Iowa, during
Spring Commencement held on May
5, 2012. Dr. McGinty has joined
Dr. William Condi, D.V.M. and
Dr. James Summers, D.V.M. at the
Freeport Animal Hospital, Freeport,
Illinois on June 4, 2012.
Dr. McGinty is a 2004 graduate
of Sac Community High School.
He earned his Bachelor of Science
Degree in 2008 at Buena Vista
University, Storm Lake, Iowa. He is
the son of Thomas M. and Audrey M.
McGinty of Sac City and grandson
of Henry and Ethel McGinty of
Rockwell City and Audry and
Mathilde Garlock of Sac City.
