to lead? When and if that occurs, <strong>the</strong>n private and corporate activity may<br />

indeed become an independent variable capable of transforming geopolitics and<br />

geoeconomics. When and if that occurs, a new generation of <strong>the</strong> sort McCurdy<br />

awaits may indeed hearken to Siddiqi’s plea that we cease fearing our own<br />

imaginations. When and if that occurs, a tired old baby-boomer such as I will<br />

eagerly take Charles Murray’s advice “to get a grand mission . . . give it to a new<br />

generation, and get <strong>the</strong> hell out of <strong>the</strong> way.” 8<br />
