Rounded corner elements are just one<br />
of the shapely features adorning the<br />
façade of the Volksbank in Zeven,<br />
Netherlands. The accentuated horizontal<br />
lines, supported by the profiling of the<br />
TERRART ® -LARGE panels, are continued<br />
by the TERRART ® -BAGUETTES, which are<br />
both functional (as spandrel panels) and<br />
aesthetic (semi-transparently attracting<br />
attention to the windows).<br />
Even the soffit parts are produced from<br />
natural materials and thus integrate<br />
seamlessly in the harmonious, elegant<br />
external design. A minor yet attractive<br />
feature: the signet of the bank has been<br />
discreetly burned onto the terracotta<br />
areas.

large administrative building in Düsseldorf.<br />
The structure surrounds a courtyard<br />
with a glass roof construction,<br />

green areas and water basins.<br />
With its warm brown shade, the ceramic<br />

Landsberger Strasse presents a multicoloured<br />
and cheerful contrast to the<br />
grey asphalt of the surrounding streets.<br />
Semi-circular shapes blend softly with<br />
the verdant surroundings. The powerful<br />
colour scheme of the façades, which<br />
gives the building complex its charm,<br />
was realised with profiled TERRART ® -<br />
LARGE panels.

new premises of the remedy manufacturer<br />
WALA in Bad Boll. The predominantly<br />
warm red tone of the ceramic cladding<br />

components and roof construction. The<br />

follow the external shapes of the building,<br />
the radiuses and the railings, displaying<br />

The building complex of the new biocentre<br />
in Planegg-Martinsried combines<br />
learning, research and administration<br />
under one roof. For the construction,<br />
the focus was on using raw materials,<br />
the planning authorities’ principal aim<br />
being that the university building<br />
blended in organically with the environment.<br />
The façade materials achieve the required<br />
harmony: while the laboratory<br />
wing, with its natural landscape setting,<br />
received timber cladding, the decision<br />

was made to clad the office wing on the<br />
campus with bricks from the TERRART ® -<br />
LARGE system, their attractive natural<br />
colour producing a warm and inviting<br />
effect. The architectural feature of the<br />
administration wing’s central section is<br />

which, consisting entirely of glass,<br />

There can be no doubt studying is<br />
improved by a beautiful setting. This<br />
was the line of thought pursued by the<br />
clients of Collège Michel Vignaud when<br />
they gave the modern function building<br />
a highly appealing and varied shape.<br />
For the TERRART ® façade, three warm<br />
natural/earth tones were chosen that<br />
perfectly complement each other and<br />
highlight the building’s open, friendly<br />
character. The striking TERRART ® -<br />
BAGUETTES are set in front of the<br />
glazing underneath the roof.<br />

shapes lend this office building in Issy<br />
les Moulineaux a bizarre yet breathtaking<br />
appearance. Large glass frontages<br />
and freestanding, punctuated façade<br />
walls reveal much of life within. The<br />
TERRART ® -LARGE panels, which were<br />
processed with the ceramic façades,<br />
form a colourful and formal balance.

This futuristic steel construction, resembling<br />
a Ferris wheel, and massive glass<br />
frontages, which provide an unusually<br />
open view, is not what one normally<br />
expects a hospital to look like: the<br />
children’s hospital in London is an<br />
architectural highlight of a particular<br />
quality. Functionality and aesthetics<br />
combine successfully here.<br />
Colourful accents are set by the powerful<br />
red of the windowless areas and<br />
chimney-like towers of the external façade,<br />
which were produced from TERRART ®<br />
elements.

More Hilton in London. This three-part<br />
concept is also reflected in the façade<br />
design, which creates sharply contrasting<br />
impressions with its copper<br />
panels and light terracotta.<br />
Smooth TERRART ® panels alternate with<br />
corrugated and profiled elements, creating<br />
a surface structure that radiates a<br />
peaceful elegance, despite its „activity“.
