International Registrations under the Madrid Protocol seeking<br />
protection in the State.<br />
Any person desiring to oppose the conferring of protection in the State to the<br />
undermentioned marks may, within three months from the date of this Journal give notice<br />
to the Controller, <strong>Patents</strong> <strong>Office</strong>, Government Buildings, Hebron Road, Kilkenny, in<br />
accordance with the provisions of Rule 18.<br />
It should be noted that under the provisions of Rule 63(2) no extension of the opposition<br />
period is allowed for lodging opposition under Rule 18.<br />
It is desirable before lodging formal opposition that a communication should be addressed<br />
to the holder affording him an opportunity to withdraw his application for protection of the<br />
International Registration in the State. In this way cost of opposition proceedings may be<br />
avoided.<br />
