In commercial vehicles, it is common practice to operate
certain systems with the engine switched off. This is the
real strength of the Tecmaxx battery:
Ñ It can cope with repeated battery discharge
Ñ It provides a reliable source of power for radio, TV and
air conditioning as well as electronic braking and
suspension systems
What‘s the secret? The use of silver technology permits
charging 1.5 times faster than required by the European
standard (EN).
Extremely durable
With its silver alloy, the Tecmaxx provides almost in-
exhaustible power reserves and maximum loadability.
The best evidence for this: practical tests in the icy cold
in Sweden. Even at minus 38° C, the Tecmaxx always
starts reliably – even after four years of continuous
service in the polar circle.
Innovative design for maximum safety
Ñ The sealed labyrinth cover developed by Bosch collects
acid and returns it safely to the battery. This ensures tilt-
resistance against leakage at a tilt angle of up to 90°
Ñ The Security+ plug ensures that no liquid enters the
battery and that no acid escapes
Ñ Integral flame arrestors for added safety
Ñ Single point venting allows gases to escape in a
controlled manner, by means of a central degassing
system.

Tecmaxx HD: approx. 175 cycles
Tecmaxx HDE: approx. 225 cycles
Up to 225 charging cycles are possible with the Tecmaxx
HDE – four times as many cycles as lead-acid batteries
can manage under the same conditions.

Tecmaxx HDE (Heavy Duty Extra)
for extremely high cyclic loading
Extremely high energy requirements and frequent
discharging are encountered primarily in long-distance
truck-trailers with sleeping cabins, delivery vehicles with
lifting platforms, fire service vehicles, luxury coaches
and urban buses. Tecmaxx Heavy Duty Extra (HDE) bat-
teries were developed specially for these applications.
In the Tecmaxx HDE, each separator is provided with a
glass mat directly at the active material of the positive
plate. The advantage of this is that battery operation is
maintained even when subject to high cyclic loading and
severe vibration.

Tecmaxx batteries use 4 times less water than required
