2.4.2.2 Quadrupole Magnets<br />

Table 2.4.14 lists the specifications of the quadrupole magnets used in the <strong>Super</strong>-FRS. The table is<br />

subdivided into the radiation resistant quadrupole magnets needed for the 1 st dipole stage of the<br />

Pre-<strong>Separator</strong> and the superferric quadrupole magnets for the 2 nd dipole stage of the Pre-<strong>Separator</strong>,<br />

the Main-<strong>Separator</strong>, and the Energy-Buncher. Although all magnets will be operated in a DC mode<br />

the iron design has to be built by laminations since the Bρ setting of the <strong>Super</strong>-FRS has to be<br />

changed frequently according to the experimental requirements.<br />
