An evaluation of the field integrals in the good field area at an intermediate field level of B = 0.9 T<br />

shows, that the distribution is in good agreement obtained by the 2D model. Therefore it should be<br />

easily possible to correct for it if necessary by shaping the pole end.<br />

The possible influence of a field clamp at the entrance/exit of the magnet (Figure 2.4.40) was<br />

investigated. The calculations indicate that the field clamp changes noticeably the field integrals.<br />

These results are preliminary and a choice of an appropriate distance and profile of the clamp may<br />

change the final distributions significantly (Figure 2.4.41).<br />
