The field properties listed in section 2.4.A5.1 have to be measured for all superconducting magnets.<br />

Besides this the dynamic behaviour of the magnetic field of all fast-ramped superconducting<br />

magnets during ramping must be measured. These so-called dynamic measurements will be carried<br />

out ramp by ramp, i.e. the coil will be placed at a certain angular position and the magnet will be<br />

ramped up and down and the induced signal will be measured. Then the coil will step to the next<br />

angular position and the measurement will be repeated, and so on. After the loop is finished, all<br />

multipoles can be computed from these data. In this case the power converter's reproducibility must<br />

be good enough to guarantee the necessary accuracy for this measurement procedure [114].<br />

Therefore the static reference coil of the mole (see Figure 2.4.158) is used to check the power<br />

converter's ramp-to-ramp reproducibility. As an alternative method a probe with many coils (in the<br />

order of 16) mounted on a cylindrical surface can be fabricated [115,116]. The different required<br />

systems are given in Table 2.4.46 and Table 2.4.47.<br />
