The display formats for signal elements
can be defined centrally in the project
window under the categories internal
analog formats and internal digital
formats.
In this way, the formats are clearly arranged,
easy to access and have to be defined only
once.
The proven comfortable dialog for display
formats with the WinMOD Ratio Calculator
is further used for the central display formats.
Each format has a unique name. This
unique name serves for the identification in
the signal elements.
Signal elements can also, however, have
alternatively own individual local formats.
Advantages:
 central definition
 clear survey
 simple reusability
 standardization in the project
The central definition of the display formats
for signal elements enables a fast and
simple follow-up of changes.
Changes are made once in the project
window. They have an immediate
consistently effect the complete project.
advantages:
 fast changing
 consistent changing
 efficient change management
Also operands have now a signal format.
To define signal formats the same internal
format definitions in the project window
are used.
Signal elements can inherit the format of
operands by the option "format of the
operand". In this way, changes of the format
of the operand affect also the signal elements
connected to the operands.
This results in an intermediate scope
between individual and global formats.
Signal formats of operands can also be used
as classification criteria for filtering.
Advantages:
 signal elements follow operands
 reduced efforts for definition
 classification of operands
Also graphical wirings have signal
formats.
With the option "format of the operand" the
formats of a graphical wirings are inherited
to signal and simulation elements.
In this way the advantages of formats can be
used for graphical wirings as well as for
operands.
advantages:
 signal elements and simulation elements
The engineering units used in the
automation system for display, sensor
ranges, and so on can now as signal
elements centrally stored in the WinMOD
project as internal formats.
In this way the engineering units are not
longer distributed over many signal and
simulation elements. They are instead of that
centrally listed in the project window.
The engineering path for scalings of
automation systems leads from the
engineering of the automation system via the
WinMOD project window into the WinMOD
simulation files.
Changes in the automation system can be
easily updated in simulation.
Advantages:
 systematic engineering path
 clear survey
 simple change management
The proven WinMOD periphery formats for
automation system operands are now also
centrally defined in the project window as
external analog formats and external
digital formats.
The proven dialogs for formatting are further
used.
Periphery formats can be defined centrally
and used project wide.
Furthermore it is possible that single
operands still have individual formats.
Periphery formats are handled extensive like
display formats.
Advantages:
 central definition
 good survey
 standardization in the project
 congruent with signal formats
 fast and consistent modification
The automatic generation of simulation
files with the WinMOD Engineering-
Assistance uses the new signal and
periphery formats. This results in an
extended consistency of the data flow from
the plant engineering to the WinMOD
Plant.
a) The formats can be defined in the
The differentiation elements prevented until
overshooting of the output above 100 % by a
damping that maintains the correct area
below the differential curve.
The new option "no T1-damping" enables in
WinMOD 5.1 now a real delta value between
to two simulation cycles.
Advantages:
 selection of the preferred operation
limitation of maximum output values by
maintaining the correct integration value.
true delta value between simulation cycles
The table element now disposes over further
functions to create output values, with clear
user guidance.
The new properties dialog of table elements
provides now 3 possibilities for how to create
intermediate values:
a) value of the next larger entry
b) linear interpolation between entries
c) value of the next smaller entry
advantages:
simple selection of method for creation of
values
 reduced efforts for formatting outside
