Appendix B This appendix describes how to load <strong>the</strong> Bootstrap Loader and <strong>the</strong><br />

monitor into PROM devices.<br />

Appendix C This appendix describes use of <strong>the</strong> D-MON386 monitor in <strong>the</strong><br />

Bootstrap process.<br />

CONVENTIONS<br />

The following conventions are used throughout this manual:<br />

• Information appearing as UPPERCASE characters when shown in keyboard examples<br />

must be entered or coded exactly as shown. You may, however, mix lower and<br />

uppercase characters when entering <strong>the</strong> text.<br />

• Fields appearing as lowercase characters within angle brackets ( < > ) when shown in<br />

keyboard examples indicate variable information. You must enter an appropriate<br />

value or symbol for variable fields.<br />

• User input appears in one of <strong>the</strong> following forms:<br />

as blue text<br />

as bolded text within a screen<br />

• The term "iRMX II" refers to <strong>the</strong> iRMX II (iRMX 286) Operating System.<br />

• The term "iRMX I" refers to <strong>the</strong> iRMX I (iRMX 86) Operating System.<br />

• The terms "iRMX" or "iRMX Operating System" when used by <strong>the</strong>mselves, refer to<br />

both iRMX I and II, that is, <strong>the</strong> text applies equally to both operating systems.<br />

• All numbers, unless o<strong>the</strong>rwise stated, are assumed to be decimal. Hexadecimal<br />

numbers include <strong>the</strong> "H" radix character (for example, OFFH).<br />
