Olympic Mascots Medallion<br />

This official Sydney 2000 bronze medallion<br />

features the Olympic mascots – Syd, Millie and<br />

Olly. This medallion is struck from aluminium<br />

bronze using the same blank as the Olympic<br />

bronze coins. The reverse side design has<br />

coloured images of Syd, Millie and Olly, the<br />

obverse depicts the Sydney 2000 Olympic<br />

Games logo and the Olympic rings. It comes in<br />

an official SOCOG coloured unit incorporating<br />

the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games emblem.<br />

This attractive $1.00 coloured, silver coin from<br />

the Perth Mint features a design symbolising<br />

the dawn of the new millennium. The 1oz coin<br />

is struck from 99.9% pure silver. The reverse<br />

design features the sun and the pitted surface of<br />

the moon. The earth is depicted as a pure gold<br />

insert with a coloured sunburst in the<br />

background. The obverse features the effigy of<br />

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11. Presented in a<br />

silver 'hammertone' metallic-look presentation<br />

case along with a serial-numbered certificate of<br />

authenticity. Limited quantities of this coin,<br />

which is official coinage and lawful currency of<br />

<strong>Australia</strong>, will be available from 3 January 2000.<br />
