Olympic Mascots Medallion
This official Sydney 2000 bronze medallion
features the Olympic mascots – Syd, Millie and
Olly. This medallion is struck from aluminium
bronze using the same blank as the Olympic
bronze coins. The reverse side design has
coloured images of Syd, Millie and Olly, the
obverse depicts the Sydney 2000 Olympic
Games logo and the Olympic rings. It comes in
an official SOCOG coloured unit incorporating
the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games emblem.
Available from participating Post Offices or by
mail order from the Australian Philatelic Bureau.

Australia 2000 Silver Millennium Coin
This attractive $1.00 coloured, silver coin from
the Perth Mint features a design symbolising
the dawn of the new millennium. The 1oz coin
is struck from 99.9% pure silver. The reverse
design features the sun and the pitted surface of
the moon. The earth is depicted as a pure gold
insert with a coloured sunburst in the
background. The obverse features the effigy of
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11. Presented in a
silver 'hammertone' metallic-look presentation
case along with a serial-numbered certificate of
authenticity. Limited quantities of this coin,
which is official coinage and lawful currency of
Australia, will be available from 3 January 2000.
