Ute Picture Day Set For August 21 Utah's annual press and picture day is set for Thursday, August 21 at 10 A.M. in Rice Stadium. The two hour session will allow media people to get better acquainted with this year's Ute football team. Head coach Tom Lovat and his staff will be available for pictures and interviews as will the key players on this year's team. Original AstroTurf in Rice Stadium Replaced This Summer The original AstroTurf in Rice Stadium, which was laid in 1972, was replaced this summer due to a defect in the backing. Due to a problem in manufacturing the synthetic grass tore easily and necessitated Monsanto Company to replace the Turf with a newer generation of turf. 52
