HOMER WARNER<br />
Quarter back. Salt Lake City, Utah, Junior 1VL, Ht: 5-10, Wt:165<br />
Born: 3-6-53, East High School.<br />
AT UTAH: Homer came back after a two year lay<strong>of</strong>f for an L.D.S.<br />
mission and started at quarterback against L.S.U. in the season finale.<br />
Warner used shifty running to gain good yardage on the option. Homer<br />
is also a fine passer even while on the run as a scrambler. He hit 15-30<br />
passes for 166 yards and one touchdown. Although not big, Warner<br />
knows how to run a <strong>football</strong> team.<br />
HIGH SCHOOL: Played tennis, <strong>football</strong> and wrestled. Named to allstate<br />
<strong>football</strong> team, was also the captain. Member <strong>of</strong> the honor roll and<br />
was class president.<br />
PERSONAL: Majoring in computer science, aspires to go into biophysics<br />
research. Father is a doctor and played <strong>football</strong> at the U. admires his<br />
father the most.<br />
MIKE WEBB<br />
Offensive tackle, Nekoosa, Wisconsin, Junior, Ht: 6-3, Wt: 245<br />
Born: 3-23-55, Nekoosa High School<br />
AT UTAH: Mike was moved from defense to <strong>of</strong>fense during the spring<br />
to give some needed depth to the line. Coaches feel that if he puts his<br />
mind to it he could be the finest lineman on the squad. Mike has great<br />
strength in both upper and lower body. This gives him what it takes to<br />
open the <strong>of</strong>fensive tackle play.<br />
HIGH SCHOOL: Was state heavyweight wrestling champion. Allconference<br />
for three years in <strong>football</strong> and second team all-state. Earned<br />
ten letters - <strong>football</strong> (3), track (3), and wrestling (4).<br />
PERSONAL: People he respects the most are his parents and his high<br />
school <strong>football</strong> coach. Favorite pro athlete is Joe Greene. Majoring in<br />
recreation. Father is a pipe fitter.<br />
MICHAEL WEEKS<br />
Guard-Tight End, Sacramento, California, Sophomore, Ht: 6-4, Wt: 226<br />
Born: 12-1-54, Foothill High School<br />
AT UTAH: Mike has been one <strong>of</strong> the most versatile athletes to play at<br />
Utah. He has played tight end and defensive end last season. This<br />
spring coaches felt Mike had found a home at <strong>of</strong>fensive guard. Last year<br />
at tight end he had six receptions for 70 yards. After a fine spring at<br />
<strong>of</strong>fensive guard, Mike will be giving his quarterback time to throw to<br />
someone else. He will be counted on this fall to open up the holes for<br />
the Ute runners. Weeks' good speed and size makes him a great pulling<br />
guard.<br />
HIGH SCHOOL: Played <strong>football</strong> and basketball, received three varsity<br />
letters.<br />
PERSONAL: Father attended Western Montana and played <strong>football</strong>,<br />
basketball. Is a member <strong>of</strong> US Air Force. Majoring in political science,<br />
aspires to be a lawyer. Nicknamed Wolf man.<br />
HARLAN WEISE<br />
Center, Dallas, Texas, Junior 1VL, Ht: 6-1, Wt: 220, Born:<br />
11-15-54, Thomas Jefferson High School.<br />
AT UTAH: Last season Harlan was called on to start at linebacker when<br />
Dave O'Bagy was injured. He made 41 tackles and had two fumble<br />
recoveries in his first year at Utah. Coaches feel Weise is a true team<br />
leader which is the reason he has been moved to <strong>of</strong>fensive center this<br />
spring. Harlan had a great spring and has become the cornerstone <strong>of</strong> the<br />
<strong>of</strong>fensive line. Coaches feel he has a real future ahead <strong>of</strong> him at Utah.<br />
HIGH SCHOOL: Participated on 11-4A District Championship <strong>football</strong><br />
team in 1971 and 1972. Was the team captain and was named all-league<br />
all-city. . . Was also a member <strong>of</strong> the student council and the honor roll.<br />
Also earned a letter in track for the weight events.<br />
PERSONAL: Aspires to be a coach, majoring in business finance.<br />
Nicknamed Dutch . . admires his father the most.<br />
