What makes your school unique?
We are a K-8 inclusion school. We engage our students in experiential learning opportunities in the local
environment and community. Analyzing real world problems is a central objective of our interdisciplinary
curriculum. Social Justice and equity are themes embedded in each curriculum unit K-8 th grade.
We have an extended learning day (7 hours) for all students, as well as surround care programming in Before
School and Late Day. There is no longer a half day on Fridays. Our school day is now 9:30-4:30 every day.
After-school/extra-curricular and sports opportunities:
During the Extended Learning Day students in grades 5-8 are enrolled in enrichment and athletic activities. We
also participate in an inter-scholastic athletic and academic league with other middle schools. The athletic
teams are Touch Football, Soccer, and Basketball for both boys and girls. The academic competition is in
spelling, chess and debate. This league practices after the 4:30 dismissal and games or competitions are often in
the evenings or on Saturdays.
