What makes your school unique?<br />
We are a K-8 inclusion school. We engage our students in experiential learning opportunities in the local<br />
environment and community. Analyzing real world problems is a central objective of our interdisciplinary<br />
curriculum. Social Justice and equity are themes embedded in each curriculum unit K-8 th grade.<br />
We have an extended learning day (7 hours) for all students, as well as surround care programming in Before<br />
School and Late Day. There is no longer a half day on Fridays. Our school day is now 9:30-4:30 every day.<br />
After-school/extra-curricular and sports opportunities:<br />
During the Extended Learning Day students in grades 5-8 are enrolled in enrichment and athletic activities. We<br />
also participate in an inter-scholastic athletic and academic league with other middle schools. The athletic<br />
teams are Touch Football, Soccer, and Basketball for both boys and girls. The academic competition is in<br />
spelling, chess and debate. This league practices after the 4:30 dismissal and games or competitions are often in<br />
the evenings or on Saturdays.<br />
