What makes your school unique?
The intimate size and structure of the Eliot K-8 School creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. We
are one of the newest K-8 schools in Boston having just completed our conversion this year with the
addition of two new K1 classrooms and an 8 th grade. Our school is located in the heart of the North End
along the Freedom Trail.
Our school offers an Italian Language program to students in Kinder 1 through Grade 8. We have an Art
studio, a Music Studio and a state of the art computer classroom with SMART board technology. SMART
Boards are housed in many of the classrooms connecting our students to the 21 st century while
seamlessly integrating technology into their classroom instruction. We also offer enrichment courses to
students in grades 4-8 in reading, writing and mathematics.
Special opportunities for students:
The location of the school and our partnerships with the many community agencies provides our
students hands on opportunities to live and breathe history. The Old North Church, Paul Revere’s House
and the United States Coast Guard are all within walking distance and bring learning alive for our
students.
Our partnership with the New England Aquarium offers all our students the opportunity to visit the
Aquarium every month and spend time investigating and observing different exhibits in the Aquarium
linked to grade level science curriculum. Our partnership with the Italian Consulate has provided a full
time Italian teacher. All our students in Kinder 1 through grade 8 receive Italian language instruction.
After-school/extra-curricular and sports opportunities:
We have a number of after school/extra curricular activities for students. We offer after school karate twice a
week. Champions After School Program provides our after school program for grades K1-5 everyday from 3:30-
6:00pm. There is a daily before school program for all students run by North End Music Perfuming Arts Center
with instrumental music lesson, art classes and drama and dance.
