What makes your school unique?
The students of Boston Latin Academy, their families, and the faculty share a commitment of excellence. Our curriculum,
while rooted in the study of the classics, liberal arts, and fine arts, has been developed to ensure that all students are well
prepared for success in college and life. Students are encouraged to appreciate the ideas and practices expressed in the
classics and to recognize the evolving continuum between them and the complex, ever-changing challenges of society.
While appreciating the classics, we also use data-based research to inform and re-imagine our curriculum as we strive to
make it match our 21st century student base of engaged learners. We seek to challenge our students with a rigorous
curriculum while, at the same time, providing them with the scaffolds to succeed. Throughout, we value giving back to the
rich and diverse communities of Boston from which our students come.
Special opportunities for students (internships, etc.):
Boston Latin Academy offers a myriad of opportunities for the college bound student and all of our students go on to
college. We have many Honors and Advanced Placement courses across all disciplines. In addition to a classics based
curriculum, BLA offers music, art and a theater arts program. We have an exemplary peer tutoring program for all subjects.
BLA also has many on-site jobs, summer programs, community service opportunities, and college fairs that provide
opportunities for our students to be active outside the classroom.
