The AAP designates each of these live activities for a maximum of 17.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits . Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. These activities are acceptable for a maximum of 17.25 AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the AAP. The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 17.25 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program. These live activities, Practical Pediatrics CME courses, have been reviewed and are acceptable for up to 17.0 Prescribed credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Each of these programs is accredited for 17.25 NAPNAP CE contact hours per the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP) Continuing Education Guidelines. 2 2013 cAtAlOgue disclOsure Of finAnciAl relAtiOnshiPs And resOlutiOn Of cOnflicts Of interest The AAP Policy on Disclosure of Financial Relationships and Resolution of Conflicts of Interest is designed to ensure quality, objective, balanced, and scientifically rigorous AAP CME activities. All individuals in a position to influence and/or control the content of AAP CME activities are required to disclose to the AAP and subsequently to learners that they either have no relevant financial relationships or any financial relationships with the manufacturer(s) of any commercial product(s) and/or provider(s) of commercial services discussed in CME activities. All potential conflicts of interest are identified and resolved prior to an individual’s confirmation of service at an AAP CME activity. Beyond disclosure of financial relationships, AAP CME faculty are required to disclose to the AAP and to learners when they plan to discuss or demonstrate pharmaceuticals and/or medical devices and/or medical or surgical procedures that involve “off-label” use of a device or pharmaceutical. The AAP is committed to providing learners with commercially unbiased CME activities. The content of these CME activities does not necessarily reflect the views or policies of the AAP. neW fOr 2013: electrOnic cOurse syllAbus In order to provide high quality images and readable graphics and in the spirit of going green, the syllabus for the 2013 Practical Pediatrics CME courses will be distributed to all attendees online for download in advance of the course. The electronic syllabus will contain all of the presentations for the various educational sessions along with other useful information. You will be able to take notes directly on the contents using Adobe Reader. To accommodate individual learning styles, you can choose to print the syllabus before the course, or you can order a printed black and white copy of the syllabus if you prefer. If you would like to receive a printed copy of the syllabus, simply select that option on the course registration form. Please note that an additional fee of $50 applies. To be guaranteed receipt of a printed syllabus at the course, you must register by the early bird deadline for the course you will be attending. note: There may be printed copies of the syllabus available for purchase on-site or after the course; however, quantities will be limited. The price for a printed syllabus ordered on-site or after the course is $150. Electrical power strips for individual laptop and tablet use will not be available for full-time use by each course attendee throughout the educational sessions. Each Practical Pediatrics CME Course includes general session lectures and question-and-answer sessions, as well as concurrent interactive seminars. Concurrent seminars are repeated each day, giving all course registrants the opportunity to attend three of the concurrent seminars during the course. See individual course description pages for a list of the concurrent seminars offered at each course and to select those you wish to attend. In addition to educational sessions, courses feature exhibits, break times, and informal networking opportunities. Planned with plenty of free time for leisure activities, these courses provide a perfect mix of CME and R&R.
