La., under <strong>the</strong> military governorship <strong>of</strong> Gen. Ed<strong>war</strong>d Canby,<br />

<strong>the</strong> capture <strong>of</strong> Fort Gaines, Ala., <strong>the</strong> Siege <strong>of</strong> Mobile, particularly<br />

<strong>the</strong> attack on Spanish Fort, and an expedition to Texas<br />

after <strong>the</strong> surrender <strong>of</strong> Gen. R. E. Lee's army. Also contains a<br />

few maps and sketches.<br />
