Paramesius 'primus (Crawford), new combination<br />

Holotype female, USNM no. 12889; Manila, Philippines, R. Brown;<br />

well preserved, only left forewing slightly torn at apex and apical<br />

segment of left antenna missing. Allotype (male) and 2 paratypes<br />

(male and female).<br />

Paramesius spinosus Ashmead<br />

Paramesius spinosus Ashmead, 1893, pp. 392, 394.<br />

Lectotype female, USNiVl no. 11775; District of Columbia, May 13; well<br />

preserved. One female paralectotype. Ashmead stated that he was<br />

describing the species from 2 specimens, a male and a female, from<br />

the District of Columbia. The 2 specimens from that locality marked<br />

"Type" are females. There is a male in the collection, which ap-<br />

pears to be the specimen on which the male description is based;<br />

it is from Arlington, Va., however, which is not mentioned as a<br />

locality of type material.<br />

and left foreleg on a slide, left forewing missing, also left hindleg<br />

after the coxa. Allotype (male) and 3 paratypes (2 males and 1<br />

female).<br />
