Holotype female, USNM no. 25446; Bushberg, Mo., Sept. 23, 1876, from<br />

galls on Solidago, T. Pergande; well preserved except that left an-<br />

tenna is missing. Allotype (male) and numerous paratypes (males<br />

and females).<br />

Holotype female, USNM no. 21135; Hagerstown, Md., Nov. 12, 1915,<br />

from Mayetiola destructor (Say), W. R. McConnell; well preserved.<br />

Allotype (male) and numerous paratypes (males and females).<br />

Polygnotus vemoniae Ashmead, 1893, pp. 302, 317.<br />

Lectotype male (selected by Fouts, 1924b, p. 106), USNM no. 2298<br />

Arlington, Va., June 1886, from gall on V emonia noveboracensis,<br />

well preserved. Allolectotype (female) and 2 female paralectotypes.<br />

Polygnotus virginiensis Ashmead, 1893, pp. 301, 309.<br />

Lectotype female (selected by Fouts, 1924b, p. 79), USNM no. 24608;<br />

District of Columbia; well preserved. Six paralectotypes (males and<br />

females. Fouts cited Arlington, Va., as the type locality, but the<br />

specimen he selected as type is from the District of Columbia.<br />

Lectotype female (selected by Fouts, 1924b, p. 72), USNM no. 2290;<br />

District of Columbia, Mar. 31, 1882, from a cecidomyiid gall on<br />

petiole of grape leaf; well preserved. Allolectotype (male) and 10<br />

paralectotypes (males and females).<br />
