THEME OBJECTIVE ACTIONS Taking Control and Standing Up for Yourself 34 PARTNERSHIP IN PRACTICE 2007-2010 Enable adults with a learning disability to have more say in their lives and greater control • establish a “Being Heard and Being in Control” sub group to take forward the work • complete an Advocacy Review to:- (i) clarify the role and function of advocacy (ii) restructure advocacy services (iii) look at recruitment and retention of independent advocacy (iv) look at eligibility to ensure those who need independent advocacy most are prioritised • promote a greater uptake of Independent Living Fund (ILF) and Direct Payments by:- (i) appointing a direct payment/ILF worker (ii) identifying the barriers to accessing direct payments/ILF and improve information to service users families and staff • review the provision of Person Centred Planning (PCP) in Dundee by:- (i) developing quality assurance mechanisms
