PRIMARY EXTRACRANIAL MENINGIOMA OF THE LOWER LIMB

Meningiomas are one of the most common primary intracranial tumors and their
locally aggressive clinics are commonly known. In this case report,we present a rare
case of primary extracranial meningioma which is located in the anteromedial aspect
of the groin.This presentation is about a 40-year-old male patient with a complaint of
a rapidly growing painless stiff mass located in his left femur. The MRI examination
revealed that the lesion is well circumscribed and with isosignal intensity to muscle
on T1 and with a relatively hiperintense on T2-weighted imaging. The
histopathological analysis of the specimen from excisional was typical of meningioma
showing bland spindle cell proliferation with a whorling pattern. Tumor cells were
positive for EMA and Vimentin,and negative for S-100 protein.In summary, the
primary ectopic meningioma is unusual seen neoplasm. It should be included in the
differential diagnosis of soft-tissue spindle-cell tumors,it can be identified by its
characteristic morphology and immunoprofile.
