Chondroblastoma is a benign bone tumour arising from a secondary ossification
centre in epiphyseal plates and apophyses in older children and adolescents. The
lesion is rare accounting for approximately 1 to 2 percent of all benign bone tumors
and is histologically characterized by chondroblastoma cells, osteoclast-like giant
cells and sometimes reactive osteoid . We report a rare case of a young man with an
aggressive Chondroblastoma of the distal aspect of the left radius which was treated
with en block resection and joint reconstruction with free fibular graft. The functional
results are excellent after 15 years follow-up. In conclusion, the most common
treatment consists of curettage combined with packing of the cavity with bone graft or
polymethylmethacrylate but En Bloc resection and reconstruction with fibular graft
can be indicated in tumours with massive bone and joint destruction and/or tissue
mass achieving excellent local control and good functional results.
