Purpose of this prospective clinical study was to evaluate the outcomes of the newly<br />

introduced cementless Hipstar stem, made of a ß-titanium alloy (TMZF) for allowing<br />

optimal osseous integration. Furthermore the variables BMI, gender, preoperative<br />

function and age were explored as predictors for recovery after THA. Clinical and<br />

radiological evaluations of 100 patients were undertaken preoperatively and at 6, 12<br />

as well as 24 months postoperatively using the HHS-Score, WOMAC-Score, SF-36-<br />

Score and standard anterior-posterior and lateral X-rays.The HHS-Score increased<br />

significantly from 53.6±14.5 points to 82.8±15.4 at the postoperative evaluations at<br />

24 months (WI-test p
