5. Additional car parking
The increased usage anticipated would cause parking problems as the capacity is
fully utilised now at peak times. It is proposed to rationalise the car park to create
more spaces and resolve some of the poor layout issues. Additional car parking to
the rear of the Pavilion is also envisaged, particularly for Driving Range users.
Reasons
• Anticipated need for additional capacity
• Desire to rationalise existing car parking and landscaped areas to improve flow and
appearance of the centre.
• Additional car parking to the rear of the Pavilion for Driving Range users.
Financial
This is estimated to require a Capital expenditure in the region of £53,000.
Potential barriers
• Requires Planning Consent.
Update
To support the anticipated increased usage there will be a need to create additional
spaces. This was to be provided in two ways: a new car park at the rear and
changing the layout of the main car park. With a decision to defer the driving range
project it is now proposed that this money is fully utilised to make more effective use
of the current car park area by changing layout.
