1.1 To advise members of the Local Government Association ‘Climate Local’
initiative and seek the Council’s approval to sign up to it.
1.2 To outline the implications of making such a declaration.
1.3 Seek approval for the Climate Change Working Members Group to progress
the next stage of the process; which is, to propose an ambition and set out
clear and measurable actions. The Regulatory and Leisure Services Group
Manager will then bring a further detailed report back to Council setting this
out for approval.

Recommendations to Cabinet Executive/Council
That Council sign up to Climate Local.
That the Climate Change Working Members Group be requested to set out
a level of ambition, develop an action plan and report this back to a future
Council meeting for approval.
Reason for Decision Recommended
Agenda Item 17
The initiative supports the Council’s continued drive and ambition to act on
a changing climate following the signing of the Nottingham Declaration in
2006.
This will help the Council to capture opportunities and benefits of action on
climate change through:
