9. CONCLUSION
9.1. The report identifies that there are commercial development opportunities at
Rosny Hill Nature Recreation Area which can be consistent with the Rosny
Hill Nature Recreation Area Management Strategy 2011 and use of the
property for nature conservation and recreational use, which could
complement and enhance the public’s use of the area and simultaneously
provide the financial capacity for the improved use and maintenance of the
site.
9.2. The report identifies that the most feasible commercial uses at the site include:
� commercial active recreational activities;
� minor utilities;
� restaurant with take away food kiosk;
� tourist accommodation and operations;
� conference centre.
9.3. The feasibility of commercial development can be further facilitated by:
� implementation of actions under Rosny Hill Nature Recreation Area
Management Strategy 2011 aimed at increasing active recreational use
of the area; and
� the provision of services infrastructure.
9.4. An important next step is consultation with the State Government (Parks) in
regard to the report findings and the establishment of a long term lease of the
site to Council under Section 48 of the National Parks and Reserves
Management Act, 2002.
