2.16. Significant items contained in the draft Estimates include:
� continuation of the financing strategy for infrastructure renewal,
additional $318,000;
� increased investment income ($600,000) and corresponding increase in
interest attributed to the Infrastructure Renewal Reserve ($600,000);
� $1.47 million for sealed road maintenance;
� $504,000 for unsealed road maintenance;
� $1.012 million for street lighting;
� $386,000 for stormwater inspection and repair;
� $3.58 million for kerbside waste, recycling and greenwaste collection;
� $175,000 for maintenance to tracks and trails;
� $174,000 to address graffiti issues;
� $864,000 for general sportsground maintenance;
� $1.27 million for parks and playground maintenance;
� $65,000 to develop a new Planning Scheme;
� additional resourcing to support Council’s ranger services,
administrative support and business systems development;
� $87,000 to provide a full time fire management crew (additional 6
months per year).
2.17. A separate schedule of the proposed Capital Expenditure Programme is
provided with this report as Attachment 2. The programme provides for
works to the value of $14.38 million and is fully funded from a range of
capital funding sources including State Grants Commission, infrastructure
renewal funding, capital contribution from rates, road grants, specific purpose
grants, and asset sales/equity contributions.
2.18. Significant to the programme is a continued emphasis on road and footpath
renewal. Major projects contained within this programme include:
� $1.2 million footpath and kerb/gutter renewal;
� $1.75 million road resealing;
� $3.5 million road reconstruction;
� $516,000 signalised intersection at Alma Street/Cambridge Road;
