Western has had a storied tradition in football that emanates from the campus every fall. Winning a new record 27th Yates Cup title last November in Guelph, Western became the province’s best football school through history. The team has also won six national titles in 1994, 1989, 1977, 1976, 1974 and 1971. With winning records against 16 schools nationally, only three schools Mustangs History have better overall records against the Mustangs through history. Western has won almost three quarters <strong>of</strong> the games played at home - whether at J.W. Little Stadium or at TD Waterhouse Stadium, the Mustangs current home. Nine OUA MVP honours have been bestowed on Western football players, while five Mustangs have won the Hec Crighton Trophy as the nation’s top football player (Jamie Bone, Greg Marshall, Blake Marshall, Tim Tindale twice and Andy Fantuz).
