write to you and advise you of what to do next.

Please remember to bring the following with you to enrolment:

Tuition and ‘other fees’ (where applicable): We accept cash, cheques

and most major credit and debit cards. If tuition fees are above £200

you may pay by standing order with our instalment scheme.

Employer letter: If your employer is going to pay for your tuition and

‘other fees’, please bring a letter of confirmation on company headed

paper detailing the fees that they are paying.

Proof of remission: If you think you may be eligible for free or

discounted tuition, please bring current up-to-date documentation

(see page 3 for further details).

something for everyone.

Please note that you will still need to pay any ‘other fees’ at the time

of enrolment even if you are eligible for free or discounted tuition.

COURSE FEES

There are tuition fees for most courses, which are payable at

enrolment and some courses may contain ‘other fees’ (see course

list). However, for courses that are Government funded, students

may be able to claim fee remission. Look out for the fee code

symbols in the course list (as shown opposite) to see which courses

are eligible. You will also note that there have been changes to fee

remission categories for 12/13. Please see the ‘How do I claim tuition

fee remission?’ table on page 3.

For students who do not qualify for tuition fee remission, full

payment of all fees is required at enrolment.

Please note, tuition fees do not include ‘other fees’, such as

materials / an Enhanced Disclosure from the Criminal Records

Bureau (CRB) fees, which may be charged separately. Students

may still be required to pay these fees at enrolment. These fees are

highlighted in the course list and refunds of ‘other fees’ are not made

unless a class is closed.

For courses lasting less than 1 year, for example 6 weeks, the

fee stated is for the duration of the course. For courses lasting 1

academic year or more, the fee stated is for year 1 of the course.

STUDENTS UNDER 19

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August 2012, you pay no tuition or

exam fees for Government funded courses, unless fees are being

paid by a training provider, in which case the training provider will be

invoiced. Please note that students under the age of 19 may not be

able to enrol on certain courses. Please enquire for details.

OVERSEAS STUDENTS

Tuition fees quoted in the course list are for home students – that

is UK/EU/Swiss Nationals who have resided in the UK, EEA or

Switzerland for at least 3 years. If you are an overseas student,

please visit the Home Office website at www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk

for more information.

REMEMBER!

Your place on a course is not secure until you have completed

enrolment, including payment of all fees and any additional course

related costs such as books/uniform, over and above the published

fees. Information about these costs will be available at enrolment.

You will be asked for proof of your personal circumstances if you are

requesting a reduced fee. Please keep your receipts of any courserelated

purchase.

FEE CODE KEY

If you are aged 19 – 23 and you don’t already hold a qualification equivalent to 5 GCSEs at grades C or above, you may be able to

claim tuition and exam fee remission.

If you are aged 19 – 24 and you don’t have a qualification equivalent to 2 A Levels, you may be able to claim tuition and exam fee

remission.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits you may be able to claim fee remission. See the ‘How do I claim tuition fee remission?’ table

below for more information about which benefits are eligible. You may also be able to claim for financial support. Please enquire.

Fees are payable by all students. Discounted fees are not available.

Learners enrolling on GCSE Maths or English courses who do not already have a grade A*-C do not need to pay.

Students in receipt of a means tested benefits such as Income Support, Council Tax Benefit, Housing Benefit, Working Tax Credit, or Pension

Credit, may be able to receive assistance with their fees. To claim fee remission, you must provide current evidence of entitlement at

enrolment. Please see the table below for details.

REMISSION CATEGORY PROOF OF ENTITLEMENT REQUIRED

Registered unemployed in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance (JSA).

No exam fee.

Receiving Employment and Support Allowance in the Work Related

Activity Group (ESA (WRAG)). No exam fee.

Persons who are unemployed and not in receipt of the above (JSA

/ ESA (WRAG)), but are in receipt of means tested benefits (income

support; house/council tax benefit; working tax credit; pension

guarantee credit), or an unwaged dependent, who are undertaking a

programme of study with the aim of gaining employment. No exam fee.

Learners aged 19-23 studying their first full Level 2 qualification. No

exam fee.

Persons undertaking programmes where the primary goal is basic

adult literacy and numeracy. No exam fee.

A current JSA1 form authorised by Jobcentre Plus or letter of

entitlement or bank statement showing payment

The College has limited funding to offer students experiencing financial hardship to help with course related costs, including tuition fees,

24+ ADVANCED LEARNING LOAN

From Sept 2013, 24+ Advanced Learning Loans will be available to students aged 24 years or older who would like to study a Level 3 or Level
