Preferred Alternative encourages
infill in unincorporated communities,
or expansion where there is
community support or it is
determined to be in the
community’s best interest. This site is
located outside the Rural
Community of Banta. This would
expand Banta and convert
agricultural land to urban uses.
County Staff Recommendation:
Requests for sites 1 and 2 are
already commercial and within the
rural community of Banta. The
request for site 3 is not supported.
Banta is a rural community and
does not have infrastructure and
services to support expansion.
