REGULAR BOARD HEETING
MARCH 17, 1993

7:30 P.M.
The Town of Boston will then realize additional savings as they
will no longer be required to contribute monies in my behalf to
the New York State System. State regulations limit the salary
one can legally earn drawing the State Pension. Hew York State
Legislature has enacted laws and established a maximum of
$10,200.00 that you can draw during the fiscal year in my
position as Supervisor. This provision was originally adopted
to prohibit the so called "double dipping". Personnel who are
collecting a State Pension cannot draw a salary that when
combined with their allotment exceeds a salary which they
riormally receive iri the position to which they have been
elected.
I am going to announce that I am resigning effective Monday,
April 5, 1993 and request your consideratiori for appoiritmerit
when you reconvene at the next Town Board Meeting on April 7,
1993.
Supervisor Kennedy reported on the Hillcroft Bridge a meeting
has been established so that the Town of Boston can sit down
with the D.E.C, the Army Corp of Engineers and with the County
of Erie to determine the status of the Hillcroft Bridge.
TOWN CLERK* REPORT
Received a letter from Jim Davies, stating that he was pleased
to see that the Town Taxes did not go up and that all parties
can work together for the benefit of the people.
HIGHHAY SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT
Highway Superintendent Ruchalski has been monitoring the
Hillcroft Bridge quite closely and before they lose the bridge,
I feel we will lose our road. I will have to take whatever
action necessary to save this road. We won't be able to wait
for the D.E.C. approval, which I don't need under emergency
situations.
Supervisor Kennedy invited Highway Superintendent Ruchalski to
attend the meeting with him on the Hillcroft Bridge.
TOHN ATTORNEY
With reference to the Resolution regarding the Qualified
Abandonment of Dunn Road. I have recently talked with Mel Case
and he has suggested that I make contact with the Board to
determine an appropriate hearing date for Mr. Gugino. I would
suggest that the Board give me ample time to get the notices and
ask if they would consider April 21st or May 5, 1993 at 6:30
P.M. for Mr. Gugino's hearing.
The Board Member's agreed on May 5, 1993 at 6:30 P.M. for Mr.
Gugino's hearing.
COUNCILMEN
Councilman Flowers extended congratulations to Councilman Milton
Wittmeyer on being elected the Boston Chamber of Commerce
"Citizen of the Year 1993".
Councilmari Flowers reported on the light that was installed at
the State Police Barrack's. The State Police are very
appreciative of having additional light on the barracks.
Councilman Wohlhueter reported that the flier that he has been
working on with BFI to mail out to the residents is at the
printers. Starting the second full week in April and every
second week of the month thereafter two (2) bulky items may be
put out. There will be a tire drop-off Saturday, May 1, 1993.
