REGULAR BOARD HEETING<br />

HARCH 3, 1993<br />

TOWN HALL<br />

7:30 P.M.<br />

Deputy Supervisor Hittmeyer commented that when the bids were<br />

opened that the alternate bid from Bison Truck Center, Inc. was<br />

a truck that they had on the lot in stock and it did not meet<br />

the specifications.<br />

Councilman Flowers questioned how there could be a difference of<br />

eight thousand ($8,000.00) dollars between Roberts Equipment's<br />

bid and Valley Truck & Equipment's bid?<br />

asked if Roberts Equipment met the<br />

Highway Superintendent Ruchalski responded that in most cases<br />

Roberts Equipment exceeded the specifications. And also, that he<br />

had told Hark with Roberts Equipment that he would be<br />

periodically checking the truck as they are working on it. Any<br />

time that the specifications are not met he will not accept the<br />

truck.<br />

A motion was made by Councilman Wittmeyer and seconded by<br />

Councilman Wohlhueter at the recommendation of Highway<br />

Superintendent Ruchalski to award the bid for Truck and Cab and<br />

Chassis to Hanson International at $49,425.00 with-out trade in.<br />

four (4) Ayes Carried<br />

A motion was made by Councilman Zimmerman and seconded by Deputy<br />

Supervisor Hittmeyer at the recommendation of Highway<br />

Superintendent Ruchalski to award the bid for the Front Hitch to<br />

Roberts Equipment at $24,972.00 including screens.<br />

RESOLUTION 1993 10 AUTHORIZING THE DEPUTY SUPERVISOR<br />

OR THE SUPERVISOR AND THE HIGHHAY<br />

SUPERINTENDENT TO SIGN THE FINAL<br />

PLAT FOR THE SZALAY SUBDIVISION<br />

Town Attorney Perley following the bids for the Ambulance Garage<br />

Addition he was contracted by a Representative of Allstate who<br />

was the low bidder that was rejected. Town Attorney Perley<br />

advised him that the action of the Town Board was the awarding<br />

of the Bid and he professed to be more concerned with the fact<br />

that his client had been unreasonably slandered by the reports<br />

that had been communicated to the Board. Upon his request the<br />

Town Attorney advised him that he would ask the Board to fully<br />

review his qualifications in the event that he ever wanted to<br />

bid again. The Town Attorney will report to the Board when he<br />

hears from him.<br />

COUNCILMEN REPORT<br />

Councilman Flowers received a letter from the Erie County<br />

Democratic Committee concerning their new Internship Program.<br />

These Internships shall intended foi college credit a monetary<br />

stipend will not be expected.<br />

Councilman Flowers presented this offer to the Board Members ahd<br />

asked if they would have an interest in the town utilizing this<br />

program.<br />

Deputy Supervisor Hittmeyer suggested that this should be held<br />

for Supervisor Kennedy to review.<br />

Councilman Hohlhueter met with Dale Morris from the Erie County<br />

Department of Environment and Planning regarding the recycling<br />

program and solid waste disposal in the town. He was very<br />
