Received a letter from the State Comptroller's Office in regard to a Volunteer Service Award Program for Emergency Squad personnel as a defined contribution. Currently the State Comptroller's office is working on this matter and we should hear raore in the future. TOWN CLERK REPORT A) Registrar of Vital Statistic Report for October 1993 on file in the Clerk's Office. Received,a letter from Roy Emerling with regard to his property at 7287 Bostbn State Road. Mr. Emerling requests approval of a two story, 80^0 Sq. Ft., eight family dwelling and a two story, 4000 Sq. Ft. office building. A motion was made by Supervisor Kennedy and seconded by Councilraan Wohlhueter that this application from Roy Emerling for proposed consifruction at 7287 Boston State Road be referred to the Planning Board for their review and comment. five (5) Ayes Carried A letter of resignation was received from Deputy Town Clerk Anna O'Neill, effective 10/29/93. She has accepted a Civil Service position with the Hamburg School District. Supervisor Kennedy directed Town Clerk Shenk to send a letter to Mrs. O'Neill thanking her for her service to the Clerk's Office and the Town of Boston. A motion was made by Supervisor Kennedy and seconded by Councilman V'ohlhueter to accept the resignation of Anna O'Neill, effective 10/29/93. five (5) Ayes Carried Town Clerk Shenk: I would like to express my thanks to Mrs. O'Neill, she was instrumental in getting me through my first two years at the Town Hall and she will be hard to replace. I have placed an ad in the Hamburg & Springville Pennysavers and have posted a copy of the ad on the Town bulletin board. I will accept resumes until 11/05/93. SUPERINTENDENT OF HIGHWAYS REPORT Superintendent of Highways Ruchalski requested permission to extend the Town brush pickup due to the recent weather. A motion was made by Councilman Wittmeyer and seconded by Councilman Zimmerman to authorize the Highway Department to pick up brush immediately, weather permitting, until the Town is complete. five (5) Ayes Carried On recommendation of Highway Superintendont Ruchalski, a motion was made by Supervisor Kennedy and seconded by Councilraan Wittmeyer to replace retiring Joseph Wierzbic with William Forness, who was six months with Parks/six months with Highway. 36'0 REGULAR BOARD MEETING NOVEMBER 3, 1993 SUPERINTEWDEHT OF HIGHWAYS REPORT (CONT.1 TOWN HALL 7:30 P.M. On the recommendation of Highway Superintendent Ruchalski, a motion was made by Supervisor Kennedy and seconded by Councilman Wittmeyer that a letter be sent to Erie County Highway Department informing them the Town of Boston Highway Department will not salt, sand, or plow the new Rice Hill access road (otherwise known as West-Tillen Road), Pfarner Road, and Mill Street. five (5) Ayes Carried TOWW ATTORNEY REPORT Town Attorney Perley has received correspondence from our insurance counsel on the Russen CaSe vs. Boston Emergency Squad. It is anticipated that Mr. Russen may withdraw from or discontinue the case. Final word is anticipated within 90 days. Town Attorney Parley made a recommendation to the Town Board to designate the New York State Commission on Cable Television to regulate cable rates in the Town of Boston. RESOLUTION 1993 - 44 DESIGNATE NYS COMMISSION ON CABLE TELEVISION TO REGULATE RATES COUNCILMAH REPORT Councilman Wohlhueter announced the tire drop off is scheduled for Saturday 11/6/93 from 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.. Councilman Wittmeyer received a letter from Erie County Highway Department which was written to the NYSDOT requesting a lower maximum speed limit on Boston State Road. Councilman wittraeyer will send a letter to the NYSDOT when they acknowledge receipt of this letter, stating the reasons why the Town of Boston would like this speed lirait reduction. CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER REPORT A) Code Enforcement officer monthly report for October 1993 was received and on file in the Clerk's Office. DOG CONTROL OFFICER REPORT A) Dog Control officer monthly report for October 1993 was received and on file in the Clerk's Office. A motion was made by Supervisor Kennedy and seconded by Councilman Wohlhueter to adjourn the meeting at 8:35 P.M. J J
