REGULAR BOARD MEETING JANUARY 20, 1993 TOHN HALL 7:P.M. Reed Garver - Lower East Hill Road, on behalf of the Boston Free Library, Board of Trustees asked to recycle their request for assistance for the driveway and parking facilities providing better access to the Library for all patrons, especially Senior Citizens and the Handicapped. Mr. Garver presented the Town Board with a petition containing one hundred and sixty-two (162) signatures. Supervisor Kennedy thanked Mr. Garver for the petitions. We have a packet that we work in conjunction with our Grants person and this is one of the concerns we have at the Town Hall, also. We have made the lower rear of the building handicap accessible, unfortunately if you had a wheelchair you would not be able to get from the parking lot to the handicapped ramp, so it really doesn't help to much to have the building handicap accessible if you cannot get from where you park your vehicle to the entrance. It is in very dire need of work both in the entry way and the parking area. Supervisor Kennedy commented that we are penalized each year with a certain point system that has been established by the people that regulate the grants. Before we were portioned out a certain amount of money each year to each municipality and we weire unable to do projects of any size because of the small amount of money that was apportioned, so they collectively apportion the money now into one large pot and it is competitive between all the members of the consortium in competing for these funds. There is a regular point system that is established to rate each of these projects. Hopefully, we will get consideration, although the competitive situation is getting very difficult each year. The projects are refined and put in to the point where almost all of them qualify and it is just a case of which get the higher point system. We will try to forward both the Library Project and the Senior Citizens Project. There were no other questions or comments. A motion was made by Supervisor Kennedy and seconded by Councilman Wittmeyer to close the Public Hearing at 8:08 P.M. five (5) Ayes Carried Supervisor Kennedy stated that the Board will not take action on the selection of the Projects until the next Town Board Meeting on February 3, 1993, at which time they will be forwarded to Community Development for review. Received Bid Specs for the Summer Recreation Bus and the Ski Program Bids from Gerald O'Brien, Recreation Director. Mr. O'Brien requested that the bids be opened on March 10, 1993 at 10:00 A.M. in the office of the Town Clerk. A motion was made Councilman Hohlhueter and seconded by Councilman Hittmeyer to open the Bus Bids for the Summer Recreation and the Ski Programs for 1993 in the Town Clerk's office on Wednesday, March 10, 1993 at 10:00 A.M. five (5) Ayes Carried A motion was made by Councilman Wittmeyer and seconded by Councilman Wohlhueter to approve the following for employment with Recreation Department for Friday Evening Program at the Boston Valley School as requested by Gerald O'Brien, Recreation Director effective 1/9/93 to expire 12/31/93: Maximum Cathy Boltz Recreation Leader/ 5 hr/wk $10.00 /hr Site Supervisor P/T Dan Poppenberg Recreation Attendant 4 hr/wk 5.50 /hr f-n "1 J
