REGULAR BOARD MEETING<br />

JANUARY 6, 1993<br />

TOWN HALL<br />

7:30 P.M.<br />

abandoned vehicles in the Town of Boston. Since, most of the<br />

work has been done by Hamburg, Attorney Perley asked that the<br />

Board authorize him to write the Police Chief in Hamburg and<br />

advise him that the Board agrees that he can perfect that<br />

abandonment, and from now on any abandon vehicles in Town if he<br />

hears of them or is asked to process them, that we will process<br />

them ourselves.<br />

A motion was made by Supervisor Kennedy and seconded by<br />

Councilman Flowers to authorize the Hamburg, Chief of Police to<br />

perfect the abandonment of the afore mentioned vehicle.<br />

COUNCILMEN REPORT<br />

Carried<br />

Councilman Flowers acknowledged the Chamber of Commerce for<br />

putting on the Christmas Tree Trimming Event, Gloria COleman-<br />

Thompson, Chairman, Laurie and Harry Hendrix for donating the<br />

tree. Grove Roofing for use of their boom-truck, Stumpbusters<br />

for the use of their bucket-truck and to Rucker Lumber for use<br />

of their truck and driver to transport the tree. Also, the<br />

Highway Department for their help.<br />

Councilman Zimmerman congratulated the Sean Greene Family and<br />

their son Juan who shortly before Christmas became a United<br />

States Citizen, and asked that the Town Clerk send a letter to<br />

this effect.<br />

Councilman Wittmeyer received an answer from Erie County<br />

regarding a variety of requests as follows:<br />

1) School bus sign at Butternut S Back Creek <strong>Road</strong>,<br />

installation approved.<br />

Councilman Wittmeyer upon inspection found a new sign at<br />

Cloverfield and Back Creek. This will be looked into and the<br />

sign will be put at the correct location.<br />

2) Meadow Drive, "Children at Play" - Denied, this is a<br />

Town road and the Town can install a W7-15 "Playground"<br />

should they find that the conditions meet the use<br />

defined in the NYS Manual - Traffic Control.<br />

Councilman Wittmeyer will take this up with Traffic Safety and<br />

report back to the Board.<br />

3) "School bus" and "Blind Grade" sign at 7684 Omphalius<br />

<strong>Road</strong>, installation approved.<br />

Councilman Wittmeyer followed up on this and the "School bus"<br />

sign is in place.<br />

4) 8519 Lower East Hill <strong>Road</strong>, "Blind Driveway,'*<br />

Driveway warning signs utilize intersections signs<br />

are not used where the driveway is at a highway<br />

intersection (Hohlhueter) further they are not used<br />

where intersection warning signs exist for Wohlhueter.<br />

We suggest that the residents eliminate the obstructions<br />

to visibility on the approaches to their drives and we<br />

will alert those working on the reconstruction of Lower<br />

East Hill <strong>Road</strong>, regarding improvements of visibility on<br />

the approach to this drive. Sign denied.<br />

Councilman Wittmeyer will notify the people at 8519 Lower East<br />

Hill <strong>Road</strong>.<br />
