REGULAR BOARD MEETING
SEPTEMBER 15, 1993
At 8:15 P.M. a Public Hearing
was held to place certain
restrictions on the issuance
of building permits within
certain geographic areas of
the Town of Boston that would
otherwise be permitted by the
Zonirig Law of the Town of Boston
(Local Law No.6-1990, as amended
codified at Chapter 123 of the
Boston ToWn Code).
Town Clerk Shenk read the Public
Notice.
Supervisor Kennedy stated that
this is an iiSportant_J.^w which
impacts a lot of people and a
lot of properties. It was duly
advertised by the Town Clerk in
the official newspaper, and he
posted seven (7) posters throughout
the community to ascertain that as
many persons as possible would be
aware of this Local Law, and have
an opportunity to comment here this
evening.
Town Clerk Shenk also put notices
in the Hamburg and Orchard Park
Pennysavers.
Supervisor Kennedy convened the
Public Hearing asking if anyone
present would like to speak on the
Local Law to step forward.
David Regan, 7420 Chestnut Ridge Rd.:
On the east hill we all know what the
water problems are. V/e don't have
the same fire protection as the valley,,
because we don't have' water. Every time
a new house goes in the people who do
have water, their wells turn black.
Our water is getting worse, and worse,
and the quality, and quantity has
decreased tremendously. I am in favor
of this, if we have water coming like
we are being told, everything is on a
roll. Then in two (2) years what is
it going to hurt? Thank you.
Joyce Corlett, 6474 Omphalius Road:
I am in favor of this. I think we are
doing everybody justice. The homeowners
who do suffer the threat of losing water
anytime a new well is drilled, and also,
the potential homeowners who would like
to build. Soraetimes, I think they go
in blindly not realizing what is facing
them. If we are getting the water we
are promised it is in everybody's best
interest to wait two (2) years to build.
