REGULAR BOARD MEETING
AUGUST 18, 1993
3) Kiatone wants to put more rip^rap on the bank at
Eighteen Mile Creek.
TOWN HALL
7:30 P.M.
Councilman Flowers commented that he plans to contact Mr. Foley of
Kiatone and tell him that this is a great idea. Go ahead let them
do it. If that thing lets go and hits the bank we will have a
disaster down there.
Supervisor Kennedy stated that they have been down there numerous
times and have talked to representatives of Kiatone and are
certainly in agreement with them.
Councilman Flowers attended the Chamber of Commerce Meeting and
there was some discussion about the Economic Development Committee
having some input on the Planner that is going to be hired by the
Planning Board. There point was that if the Plaririing Board hires
a very conservative Planner then they feel that they won't get a
fair deal. That was their entire problem with the planning
process.
Supervisor Kennedy when they discussed that had they received the
communication I wrote to them in response to their letter to the
Board? The Planner certainly does not want to be restrictive as to
prohibit growth and business in the community. The Planner has to
function in both avenues to protect and promote what is best for
the whole coraraunity.
Councilman Wohlhueter reported that he contacted Erie County about
a "household hazardous waste drop-off" this fall. September 11,
1993 at the Erie County Highway Garage, Delaiaater Road, Angola, New
York between 9:00 A.M. and 3 P.M. fliers will be forthcoming.
Councilman Ziramerman reported that the residents of Herman Hill
Road would like to have the parcels on the north side of Herman
Hill Road rezoned back to what they were before we made some
changes in the zoning plan. He asked the Town Attorney to prepare
the legislation.
Councilman Wittmeyer had a call from Ed Thill, Butternut Road
regarding the status of the speed control request in front of the
Boston Valley School. All the letters were reviewed, and forwarded
copies of the correspondence to him relative to the school speed
zone on Back Creek Road.
Supervisor Kennedy commented that a lot of people have questioned
him about barrels that are seen throughout the community at
different locations along the Niagara MohavJk Powerline. The
barrels are sealed and tagged. Niagara Mohawk has been
sandblasting their towers and some of the debris has been put in
those barrels and sealed. These are not toxic barrels.
